Infinite player creation points

This trick allows you to have an unlimited amount of points for a created player. It also works with the existing players and enables you to increase their stats to perfect. The process takes about an hour to make a perfect custom player. While in the creation process, go to “Traits” and select all the negative ones (they give you 1,500 points). Exit the Traits screen. Select a category (such as attack, defense, etc.) and distribute the points as you wish. When finished, exit the screen. Go back to the Traits screen and de-select the negative traits, then exit the screen. Press Start and save your player. Re-open your created player in the edit player feature. Repeat the previous steps until the desired stats are achieved.

Easy goals

When one on one with the goalkeeper, perform a finesse shot. This will trick the keeper from going from one side to the other. For example, fake right and shoot left or vice versa. It will go in about 90% of the time.

If you have the ball and are outside the area but not on your half, you can check on the map how far the keeper is off his line. Normally he is about two meters. You can lob him easily if you get the power correct.

Easy wins

When you are losing a match, pause the game and go to “Select Sides”. Switch to the other team, then shoot at your own net and score goals for your team original. Once your team is winning by a comfortable lead, switch back to your original team.

Easy unlockable points

Select Tournament mode and choose any cup tournament, as they tend to be shorter. Select the highest rated team or replace a team in the tournament with a highly rated team from another league. Advance to Tournament Central and quick sim all the games until you have won the tournament. You will be awarded unlockable points to spend.

Easy money

While playing as any team in Manager mode, buy the best free agents in the transfer market. Sell them during the same transfer market window so you do not have to pay the high salary. Because they are free to you, once you sell them you can get the added millions to your bank account.

Full team stamina

In Manager mode, save the game, quit, then load Manager mode again and all your players’ stamina will be almost fully refilled. Repeat this process as much as desired.

Cheaper players

This trick works in Manager mode when you are changing teams at the end of a season. At the end of the season when you are asked whether or not to renew certain players’ contracts, choose not to renew the contracts of your favorite or best players (the ones you want on your new team). When you get to the new team and the transfer period starts, the players will be free agents, allowing you to transfer them without paying millions in fees and allowing you to re-negotiate the contract to fit your new team.

Preview unlockables

Purchase unlockable items without saving your profile. After testing items, simply reload your profile to re-acquire the unlockable points. By using this technique you can unlock and test all the unlockables in the game.

Finding Giovanni Dos Santos

You can find Giovanni Dos Santos in Barcelona’s reserve list. Even though he is only 69 overall you can edit his stats and make him as good as Ronaldinho. You will then have two of the best midfielder’s in the game.

Create a team of eleven players rated 99 overall. Then, get five players rated 85 or higher overall. Use these players as substitutes. When you create the team, make sure you start out with $50 million. Start a season in Manager mode with this team. All of your staff or coaches will be rated 9 or 10. Before the first game, re-negotiate as many of the contracts as you can and bring down the salary per game at least $10,000. You will have a good team and be able to afford it. Three recommended players are: Wayne Rooney, Christiano Ronaldo, and Robinho.

Keeping players longer in Manager mode

Before you start Manager mode with a team, edit the age of the players so they play longer for your team. For example, with Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard (age 28) might play for five years. However, Steven Gerrard (age 14) will play for at least twenty more years.

Easy win

If you are losing a game in world class mode, pause the game. Choose “Side Select” from the options menu, then move your controller under our opponent’s name. Then, score your own goals as that team.

Farther goal kicks

When you are taking a goal kick, hold Pass until the ball gets all the way up, then release. Note: This only works for goal kicks.

Easy goals from halfway

When you start a match, change controls to the other team and hold [Keeper Rush] for the goalkeeper to rush out and get the ball. Pause the game while still holding [Keeper Rush] and change back to your side. The other goal keeper should keep rushing out and slide tacking you. Shoot from halfway and you should get a goal. Also for laughs, sometimes the goalkeeper grabs the ball meters from the box and nothing happens.

Free kick

In order to get a good free kick, you must stop the meter at the green spot and the ball must curve to fool the keeper. There is no need to bend the ball, because it bends itself. If you bend it, you will miss the goal. The meter must stop near the green spot. Just aim the ball by the side of keeper slightly to the right of your screen. There is no need to bend the ball and take the free kick. Try this in practice mode. Additionally, to score a free kick, put the target in the top corner of the side of the goal that the wall is standing in front of. Make sure that you do not press Spin and that the spin target is in the dead center of the ball. Put a fair amount of power in, but do not go near there. Also, make sure the accuracy is in the middle of the green. The ball will shoot over the wall and into the top corner.

Restore physical stats

Save the game after a career mode game. Quit, then reload the saved game to increase the physicals stats of your players.

Be Celtic or Rangers in career mode

When you first try to start a career in Region 1, you will notice that you cannot be Celtic or Rangers. However, if you select “Back” then go in again several times, Celtic and Rangers will appear at the selection screen.

Strong team

To play with a great team on career mode, first choose your favorite team on the beginning screen. Then, go to the player creation screen. Create the players that you want or need. At the team options screen, send them to your team, then go to career mode. In the screen that appears before the game (squad and formation screen), make the necessary substitutions. This is an easy way to play on professional or world class level, and give your players all the needed stats.

This trick works well in career mode, but is extremely time consuming. Create yourself, and up to two other fielders. Place yourself on any team that has a rating of half a star or one star (for example, Chattertown in Football League 2). After doing this, release the best players on that team, keeping only enough players to have 18. Create a perfect goalie to keep on your roster. Next, create about fifteen goalies that are perfect, and make sure to set their year of birth to 1960. By doing this, they are all 44 years old and will retire at the end of the season. After doing all this, choose the team that you put the players on as “Your Team”. By doing this, when you go into career mode they will be the first team in the list. Select that team then go ahead and start career mode. When you start, go directly to the transfer market. Once there, trade away as many of the old perfect goalies that you have. You will get about 32,000 to 35,000 for each goalie in transfer points. This will leave you with about 250,000 to 300,000 transfer points at the end. You can take that money and buy the best players so that your team will be stacked from the start of career mode. The only snag is that besides the perfect goalie you created for yourself to keep, you will have to keep two of the old goalies. This is acceptable, because when they retire you will get scouted players that are extremely good.

Team selection in career mode

If you cannot find your team in a region in career mode, choose that team as your “Own Team” in your profile in My FIFA 2005. You will then find that team listed first in its current region.

Changing teams in category

When you start a new season and cannot find the team, go back then enter that category again. The teams will change.

Easy win

Choose a side to play on. Then during a game, press Start and choose “Select Sides”. Move your controller under the opponent’s side and resume the game. Then, score as many goals as desired (while under the opponent’s side), then just switch back to your side again. This way you will have a big point lead, depending on how many goals you scored. This trick also works better when you switch back to your side near the end of the second half.

Easy goals

If you are defending or playing the ball around the midfield, get the ball from your opponents. Give the ball to a player whose shooting precision and power is over 60 and you may train them for better results (for example, Beckham, Figo, Ronaldo, Van Nistelrooy, etc.). Run to the half of your opponents. You may see a lot of space in front of you. Then, press Shoot. Just before the meter gets red, release it. The goalie will stand too far from his goal and the ball may go in. You have about a 50% chance that your player will score from way out.

Getting good players

Go to the options menu then to “Player Swaps”. Swap all the good players desired onto the team you want to play as, then save that as a squad. Call it whatever desired. Then go to “New Season” and select “Current Squads” and play your team. This is useful for a third division team. This team now has all the good players.

Buying players

If you want to buy a player, bid for them about 1 or 2 million above the asking price. This ensures you of signing that player. Players that are worth buying include:

Unlock the All-Americas, All-European, All-Asian, and All-African teams to unlock the All-World team in friendly match mode.

Starting a career with any team

Use the following trick to start a career with any team, instead of having to buy all the career teams. At the main menu, select “Team Management”, then “Edit Player”. Choose any team and begin to edit their players up to a rating of 78. You can leave some players with an overall rating of 83, but try to keep most players at a rating of 78. You can edit almost all, if not all, of your team’s players, Then, go to Career mode and your team should be available. Also because your overall rating is 78, your players will not ask for a higher salary and you can always keep that team, unlike just swapping the starting eleven’s for the subs (even if you can choose that team, you will lose a lot of salary and eventually be fired). Do not worry about your players having an overall rating of 78. If you keep winning, your players will almost go back to their original overall stats. Also, go to “Club Transfers” and take some players you do not need or like. This will also make your players ask for less salary, because you will have less players.

All-African team

Win the World Cup with an African team to unlock the All-African team.

All-American team

Win the World Cup with an American team to unlock the All-American team.

All-Asian team

Win the World Cup with an Asian team to unlock the All-Asian team.

All-European team

Win the World Cup with a European team to unlock the All-European team.

All-World team

Win the World Cup with an African, American, Asian, and European team to unlock the All-World team.

Start as five star team in Career mode

Unlock career teams in the My Fifa menu. You can do this by completing the challenges set.

Full stat team

To start with a five star team immediately in Career mode, go to the team management screen. Put the bad players in the first eleven so that your team will be a four star team. Then, go to Career mode and your team should be there. Save your career, then go back to the team management screen. Put the first eleven players back, save it, and you will have the normal team on friendlies and your team on Career mode. Additionally, you can make any team have full stats by editing each players stats and upgrading them to 99. However, if you start with that team in Manager mode, your salary will be high. Make sure to cut their contracts down as soon as possible.

Use the following trick to be any team desired in Career mode without buying better career teams from the Fan shop. Go to team management and select a four and a half or five star team. Put all their worst players into the starting line up. They need to be at about four stars or below, then you can then use them in Career mode. When you have begun your career you can change your team back.

Fully fit team in Manager mode

In Manager mode, notice that the energy bars of your players decrease after each match. Save your career, then go back to the main menu. Load your career again. Your team will have full energy again. Note: This may not work the first time. Save and reload the game maybe once or twice more for it to work.

Win everything in Manager mode with any team

Pick a team, then start your career. Save your game. Choose “Next Match”, then “Quick Sim”. If you win the match, save your progress. If you lose a match, return to the main menu and load your career again. You can have as many chances as you want against a team, as the outcome is random every time. Make sure to save your progress after every win, in case you lose unexpectedly.

Increase profits in Manager mode

At the start of your season, do not spend the money you have immediately on staff upgrades and new players. Instead, spend the money you have on renewing player contracts. Wait to get your players morale up first, as they will be more likely to accept a renewal if they are happy at the club. You can sometimes cut a player’s salary in half, if not more. Make sure to save the game before renewing contracts so that you can start low, and increase each time if the player refuses the renewal. If a player refuses the renewal at a high price, and they have a high moral, then it may be because they are close to retirement. This can earn you up to 3,000 credits (off your current salary) each match if done well. Including a good sponsor, you could be earning 7,000 to 8,000 credits each game when at home.

Successfully complete one of the following tasks to get the indicated amount of points:

500 points: Successfully complete the Underdog challenge
500 points: Successfully complete the Hat Trick challenge
500 points: Win the LDV Vans Trophy
500 points: Win the Football League 1
500 points: Win the Football League 2
500 points: Win the Scottish Cup
750 points: Successfully complete the 5 minute challenge
750 points: Win the League Cup
750 points: Win the Football League Championship
750 points: Win the Scottish Premier League
1,000 points: Win the English Cup
1,500 points: Win the F.A. Premier League

Hidden teams

Select the “Quit To DOS” option on the game selection screen. Then during the credits, type “xplay” and press [Return]. The “Friendly Game” menu will appear with five extra teams (All Nighters, As Designed, Strontium 90, The Gimps, and the Rod Benders) called the EA Superstars. Some players on these teams have special abilities.

Enhanced play modes

Enter the “Friendly Team” selection menu. Assign Vancouver in the USA League to the team on the left. Assign Canada in the International League to the team on the right. Then, press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Insert] to display the “Enhanced Play Modes” menu. Once activated, this menu may be displayed by pressing [F1]. This menu contains the following options:

Ball Personality (Normal/Curve Ball/Crazy Ball)
Invisible Walls (Disabled/Enabled)
Team A/B Size (Normal/Big Player/Big Team)

Players (Normal/Super Goalie/Super Defense/Super Offense/Super Team)
Shots (Normal/Super)

Try to play with the home kit even when you play away, because players will have more confidence.

To access the special EA Sports teams, press the QUIT GAME button. While the video is playing type “xplay” and press ENTER.

ACTIVATE Cheat Menu
Start a Friendly game. Now set the left team to USA, Vancouver and the right team to International, Canada then press Alt + Ctrl + Insert. To access the cheat menu while playing, press F1.

Go into the player edit and edit any player name to these names and a Options Box will appear.
