Finding transportation

When starting a new level in Career Hunt, look around your cabin before leaving. You should find some form of transportation.

Finding deer in Wyoming

In Wyoming, go to the second location and go across the bridge. Once there, you can climb on top of the mountains and can see all the deer from that spot. You can shoot them with a 30-30 or 30-06. This also works in other places. Note: Do not go down the mountain when the deer is dead or you will die from the fall.

Long distance shots

When trying to shoot deer at long range, it is best to try and find a long range rifle such as the 300 BA and pre-test shooting something (like a tree) to see how much you have to compensate for wind and drop.

Easy accuracy

Get the 30-06 that comes with the scope. Go to the outdoor range and shoot. Press [Up] until it reads “.20″. Put the dot on the red dot on the board (the middle one). Shoot, and you should hit the red dot on the board.

Hidden ammo boxes

When in the first region of Adventure mode, go down to the shooting range. At the 25 yard target range there will be a box of twelve shells. Watch throughout the levels for more hidden ammo boxes.

Animal awareness

When hunting, animals appear as dots (red, yellow, or green). Around the dot is a white circle, which is the animal’s awareness. To make the circle smaller you must crouch, and while crouching move forward slowly. Stop regularly to let the circle go down faster. If you make any sudden movements, walk in water or other noisy terrain, or stand up, the awareness circle will rapidly grow larger. It is important to watch the awareness circle because the animal you are hunting may run away if its a zebra, kudu, etc; or it may run toward you and attack if it is a cheetah, rhino, wild dog, etc.

Animal dots

To determine if a dot is the animal you are hunting or a dangerous predator you need to know what each color represents. A green dot signifies the animal(s) you are currently hunting. A yellow dot signifies that the animal is harmless but not you current target/game. A red dot signifies that the animal is dangerous and will come toward you and attack if you step inside their awareness circle.

Weapon sighting coordinates

While at the target range and ready to shoot, press [Alt] + [Ctrl] + T. Fire to display targeting coordinates in X-Y format. Use the cursor keys to adjust the coordinates until they are set to 0-0. The weapon is now sighted in.

More hunting time

Return to camp before 8:00 p.m. Then, go to the lodge, back to camp, then back to the lodge to advance time until it is after Midnight for more time to hunt.

If you follow a buck or doe with your pickup truck, the deer will get tired.

Exit your vehicle, then press [Shift] while walking.

Extra money

Buy the Cyclop Hood replacement for $200 in a shop and let it be installed for $25. Look in the inventory and sell it back to shop. The shop owner will give you $972 for it. Also, the second hand Cyclop Hood replacement will make more money then it costs.

Killing the grizzly bear

The first predator you encounter is the grizzly bear. The quickest way to kill it is to wait for it to stand on its hind legs. When it opens its mouth, shoot it in the throat.
