Rayman 2 reference

In the Hoodlum’s factory, get to the place where you have to jump across crates to get to the other side. Once there, keep going up. You will eventually reach a location with a switch to activate the lifts to get to this second “conveyor belt”. On those lifts, get pretty well up to the top. There is a hole in the side of a huge “pipe”. Jump and helicopter over there and go in. You will see some of the villains from Rayman 2, including Admiral Razorbeard and his other cronies.

More cars in garage

You can fit more cars in your hideout’s garage than you are supposed to. In district two, the garage should only hold two cars but you can fit four in (or five if they are small). Park the first two besides each other next to the wall. Then, park each car after that next to the door. Get out and the door will open. Quickly drive the car in before the door shuts. Now all three or four cars are saved. In order for this to work you need to park them very close together.

Custom music

Copy some of your favorite MP3 files into the “mp3″ folder in the game folder. Start the game and you will have a new radio station titled “mp3 player”. Choose it to hear your own selections.

After going through the first set of double doors where the Oni Army is fighting the Genma, before using the Firefly to go up the short cliff, have the Genma and and Oni Army men on the wall of the short cliff and you as close as possible to the doors on the other side of the field. The supply of Genma infantry are infinite and Oni Army can take care of them by themselves. While they are fighting and nowhere near you, tape down Circle and allow the game to run. The souls will come to you, and you can get as many as desired without interruptions from the Genma. For a slightly faster collection, have Ako’s Blue Vest equipped. Note: The process of getting a lot of bars filled of souls will take a long time.

Note: This trick only works for Samanosuke. Once you obtain the Ten-Point Slash Training Scroll, play under the beginner difficulty setting multiple times. Each time you finish, you should come away with one bar, or close to it. Do this until you have the desired amount of souls, or until you max all your equipment.

Bypass Dark Realms

Any of the three Dark Realms can be easily bypassed. This requires some skill, Ako’s Purple Vest, all weapons for the character, and all weapons been completely enhanced. Whether or not the gauntlet is completely enhanced is irrelevant. Before entering the Dark Realm, equip either Chigo (for Samanosuke) or Hyosai (for Jacques). The enemies that attack will appear in multiple waves. Just wait for all enemies to appear, then execute one magic attack. Absorb all the souls that appear. Ako’s Purple Vest should allow you to do this as many times as necessary. However, if you are fighting large demons, you may need to get up close with either the Tenso (for Samanosuke) or the Enja (for Jacques). Note: A crucial part of this strategy is absorbing the souls. If you feel that you need Ako’s Blue Vest as well, make sure to switch back and forth as appropriate. Also, it is much easier to go straight for the bottom part of the Dark Realm that you are in, as the tougher enemies are down there first. By doing this, you can use your magic efficiently on the tougher enemies and not have to worry about the weaker ones.

Use less magic during magic attacks

This trick requires the gauntlet for Sam/Jacques to be at least level 2. Charge up the gauntlet to at least two and unleash a magic attack. With the purple vest on Ako you can do about five magic attacks in a row instead of four.

Deflecting critical hits

Repeatedly tap Guard until someone hits you. And as soon as you see the flash, tap Square . Keep tapping Square to go from enemy to enemy, racking up multiple critical hits.

Awards

Bravery: Successfully complete the game without saving.
Critical: Kill over 40% of your enemies with critical hits.
Defense: Take less than 5,120 damage.
Explorer: Find all 23 Tengu chests.
Offense: Kill over 3,000 enemies.

Defeating Guard Dog

Note: This was done under the normal difficulty setting. First, stock up on magic for all your weapons. Then, stock up on all the Purple Souls. At the beginning, jump behind him after he attacks. Then, just waste the magic on him. Use every weapons magic until you do not have any more. After that, use regular attacks. Watch out for the ice attack. Most of the time the thunder magic from him is off target. After a few regular attacks, transform into the Onimusha and attack him hard. However, do not use the mega attack yet. After a few attacks, just before your magic runs out use the mega magic attack on him. If he is not defeated, then just attack him a few more times.

High-efficiency Worker Governments

When starting the game, you are in the Government Despotism. Your workers are so slow that it is annoying. Quickly research the lowest two branches of the tree in Ancient World to get the Monarchy Government. Your worker speed doubles, and you can Hurry anything except a Small or Great Wonder by spending gold, not population. Play normally until you can get the Democracy Government in the Middle Ages era. Worker speed goes up 1.5 times. What used to take you six rounds now only requires four. After that, play normally until you get to the Modern World. There is no reason to choose Communism, except for Police Stations (which you do not need to be Communist to build). This means you can actually not research Communism. Instead, choose Fascism Government. It speeds your workers up again. What takes three rounds in Democracy only takes two in Fascism. This is the fastest that you can get. The speed ratings are as follows:

Despotism: 50%
Monarchy: 100%
Democracy: 150%
Fascism: 200%!

Most of the others are 100% speed. Also, Monarchy is the easiest to get.

Placing buildings in thunder storm with Scrin

When playing as the Scrin in either Multiplayer or Skirmish mode, it is usually not possible to place buildings within a thunder storm produced by the Storm Tower. The trick to getting around this is to power down the Storm Tower, then place whatever you want next to it (for example, another Storm Tower). This strategy will help to improve your base defense.

Hold more Tiberium without Tiberium Silos

Note: This was done with the v1.4 patch. You can increase the amount of Tiberium you can have without the Tiberium Silos. When it asks you to build a Tiberium Silo, just build something, and when it completes just cancel (preferably something expensive like a Tech Center). The amount of Tiberium you can hold keeps increasing every time you do this.

Rush tactic

This trick is useful for versus online multiplayer matches with 10,000. Play as Nod or GDI, and place a Crane. Then, build a Power Plant from each, and place them. Once this is done, build two Refineries, and place them. Next, sell one, and build another. On the other, build queue. Start building a war factory. Place it, and start to build another one. Make sure you have placed your second Refinery. Then, build two Harvesters from your War Factory. In the meantime, build Refineries and a Comm Center. The moment your Harvesters are done, start building as many Scorpion Tanks as possible. Place other War Factories and Power Plants as well to boost production. It is also helpful to place an anti-infantry base defenses near your MCV to stop the “Engineer rush” tactic. However, this uses power and is not necessary. This tactic works best on Redzone Rampage since each player starts with boosts resources as the blue Tiberium. Nod is the fastest since it has the quickest build speeds. Also, build Predators instead of Scorpions. As soon as possible, place the Tech Center, and upgrade tanks with either Laser Capacitors or Rail Guns. This will not always work, especially when you face upper level players in the higher ranks. However, it is possible to finish a battle in less than ten minutes with this tactic. It works best with 10,000, but can be done with more; however, it is harder as the opposition will have stronger weapons than you. It works well with 20 as you can use shortcuts and an extra Crane to boost production and speed of rush.

Play as NOD in Skirmish mode (demo version)

At the Skirmish options menu, hold N and click your army to unlock NOD as a selectable option. To switch back to GDI, hold G and click your army. This also works for the CPU army.

Quick start in Harbor Side

Go to the race type menu and select “Racing Line”. Then, go to the performance cars and select the 1995 GT90 concept car. Then, go to Colonial Run and select Harbor Side (the first one). When in the race, as it is counting down slow the RPM gauge between 4000 rpm and 6000 rpm and you will get a boost when it says “Go”.

Cheat mode

Note: This code requires a game pad. At the starting menu, hold Button 5 + Button 6 + Button 7 + Button 8 + D-pad Up/Left + Left Analog-stick Down/Right until “Devil May Cry” is spoken to unlock all bonus modes, alternate costumes, and gallery entries.

Easy mode

During the introduction sequences to every mission, a number that corresponds to that mission can be found:

Mission 1: A big “1″ on the pizza box.

Mission 2: A “2″ on a billboard near the outside of Dante’s shop.

Mission 3: Three enemies are burned by Lady’s motorcycle and fall to make a “3″.

Mission 4: There is a banner near where Vergil and Arkham are standing in the shape of a “4″.

Mission 5: A bloodgoyle gets hit into a wall. The blood remaining on the wall is in the shape of a “5″.

Mission 6: Lady blasts a rocket into the ground and the mark on the ground forms a “6″.

Mission 7: After Lady shoots Dante in the head, he smears the blood on the wall. The blood runs into the shape of a “7″.

Mission 14: At the end of the intermission sequence, it shows an angle aiming down into the pit where Vergil fell. On the wall of the crevice is a carved “14″.

Mission 15: Awhile after the intermission sequence starts, the camera will face a door with three symbols on it. Just to the right of it is a dried up plant. The branches are shaped into the number “15″.

Mission 16: A little while after Dante starts changing between normal and demon forms he will take out his guns and shoot them at the same time. If you can spot it, the flash of the two gunshots makes “16″. You must watch extremely carefully.

Mission 17: After Arkham pulls the force edge from the stone, the rocks shift around. In the bottom left of the screen will be two rock pillars next to each other; they form a “17″.

Mission 18: As Dante is rising up the portal to the demon world, a single newspaper flies around the bottom right corner of the screen with an “18″ on it.

Mission 19: The camera will start to turn at the beginning of the intermission sequence. As it is turning, there is a bookshelf. There is an area with books missing in the shape of a “19″.

Mission 20: After Lady shoots her father and starts crying in the background, the mist forms the number “20″.

Mundus reference

Successfully complete the game and get the Vergil ending, where he falls down in the pool of blood. There will be three round and red electric orbs that he says he could defeat if his father did it. This is most likely Mundus, the last Boss from the first game, because Vergil obviously loses and succumbs to Mundus’ power.
